Workshops in schools
Classical Indian Bharatanatyam dance classes
Fabrizia gives workshops in schools throughout Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and North London, to children of all ages. Her workshops are ideal when studying a topic on India learning about Indian culture and religion, for instance for Diwali.
She can optionally be accompanied by tabla player Neil Craig, and is available for half-day sessions, or regular weekly lessons. She can also work in parallel with colleagues from other disciplines to offer an exciting multicultural carousel of activities throughout an Enrichment Day.
See some more photos and video of her working at Goldfield Infants' & Nursery School in Tring and St Rose's RC Infants School in Boxmoor near Hemel Hempstead.
Testimonials
"We were all enchanted by the music and your dancing, and from an educational point of view you presented your art so well. A natural teacher!"
- David Wilson, Headmaster of St. Nicholas Preparatory School, Knightsbridge"Thank you for coming and sharing your Indian dance and musical skills with staff and pupils alike. The children found the morning session inspirational, which mean they were very eager to take part in their individual sessions with you. They learnt a lot about rhythm and enjoyed being able to express themselves through dance and music. Thank you once again for providing us with a experience that will be remembered for a very long time."
- Tracy Jellis, Deputy Headteacher, Samuel Lucas JMI School, Hitchin"It was a most enjoyable morning. The demonstration of Indian Classical Dance and the musical accompaniment were pitched at just the right level to engage and inform a young audiance. The display and music were excellent and the follow up workshop session was enjoyed by all of the children. The short talk after the workshop was equally good with time for question and and answer session at the end. Neil gave a very clear explantion and description of the drums he was using and gave the children the opportunity to observe at close hand some of the different techniques in playing. We would have no hesitation in recommending this dance workshop to other schools."
- Lee-Ann Britten, Headteacher of Longlands Primary School and Nursery, Broxbourne
